Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue ellis-taylor, the American stage and screen actor and producer. She is most famous as a film actress for her role in Ray Undercover Brother (Ray Undercover Brother) as well as The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in theater, film and television. Her career began as an actor in theater but then proceeded to be a part of numerous television series, mainstream and independent films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as various nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. She's appeared as a character on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. In her film career, she is most well-known for her roles in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In television, her role in ABC's police drama High Incident is well known.
