Linda Edna Cardellini was born in Redwood City, California, to Lorraine (Hernan) and Wayne David Cardellini who is a businessman. Linda is Italian by descent from her father's grandfather. Irish through her mom, German, English, Scottish and German. Linda is a native of San Francisco Bay and grew to become the smallest of four kids. She studied at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and made her debut on the British TV show Just William (2010). The actress previously appeared as the role of Lady Rose MacClare as part of the period show Downton Abbey. James then played Countess Natasha Rostova on the TV adaptation of War & Peace in 2016. Here We Go again (2018) and Yesterday and Yesterday in 2019. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award in 2022 in her role as Pamela Anderson, the star of Pam & Tommy.
